Sailing holidays on an individual basis

Sailing weeks Swedish skerry coast

Gothenburg, Sweden’s second biggest city, combines vibrant urbanity, a friendly vibe and seaside charm. This is the place where your discovery of the Swedish archipelago starts and ends.

Sailing along with tall ship Avatar makes it easy to explore the countless islands in the archipelago at the west coast of Sweden. Spend a week in the midst of granite rocks, picturesque fishing villages and wonderful nature. You will have plenty of opportunity to sail, hike and swim in the landscape of archipelago islands, bays and sea.

With a unique mixture of exceptional nature, maritime flair and an informal ambience, this region secures a place in the hearts of its visitors.
If you like to be in nature, the many hiking and biking trails are just right for you. There is something for everyone here, whether you are looking for a great adventure or just want to switch off and listen to the rhythm of the waves.

Käringön, Smögen and Marstrand are just three names to remember if you want to succumb to the maritime charm of the coastal region. Marstrand’s largest attraction is the mighty Carlstens Fortress, dating from the mid-17th century. In Marstrand you will also find well-preserved cobblestone streets, framed by beautiful turn-of-the-century buildings which proudly show off their fine glazed verandas and sublime gingerbread woodwork.
