Sailing holidays on an individual basis

Sailing weeks Rügen

Kiel - Stralsund and Stralsund - Kiel

Your sailing trip aboard the Avatar begins in the German city of Kiel. From here, depending on the weather and wind, different routes to Rügen are possible. Sailing is regularly alternated with the possibility to go ashore. There is also time to anchor so that you can enjoy swimming and barbecuing.

You sail for example to the island of Fehmarn, one of the regions with the most sun hours in Germany. You anchor here or moor here in Burgstaaken near the town of Burg. Then there is the choice to set course for the cozy Warnemünde with its many cafés, restaurants and small shops along the water. Or to the town of Nysted on the Danish island of Lolland. Here you will find one of Denmark's oldest preserved fortresses from the Middle Ages: Aalholm Castle.

Soon after, the islands of Hiddensee and Rügen come into view. Both islands are largely protected nature reserves. But Rügen has more to offer than nature and tranquility: picturesque fishing villages, seaside resorts with nice shops and restaurants, impressive chalk cliffs, beautiful castles and mansions. Your sailing trip finally ends in Stralsund. After an exciting, active and relaxing sailing holiday, it is unfortunately time to go home again.

This trip is also offered in reverse order, from Stralsund to Kiel.

Stralsund - Stralsund

During these week trips we let the wind determine the route. We visit Rügen in any case and if the wind is favorable we make the crossing to the Danish island of Bornholm.
Rügen is a beautiful island with a varied nature. With tidal areas (Bodden) in the south and west, white chalk cliffs in the north and beautiful sandy beaches in the east.

Bornholm is very popular because it has something very special. It is said that Bornholm is a miniature version of the whole of Denmark. Nature, with its diversity and its rarities, is an attraction in itself. Bornholm's most visited attraction - Hammershus, a large castle ruin - lies like an eagle's nest on a 74-meter high cliff. Highly recommended is a visit to the small artist island of Christiansø, which is located near Bornholm.

Another possibility is a sailing trip to the east with a visit to Swinoujscie and Szczecin at the mouth of the river Oder. Swinoujscie is one of the most important seaside resorts in Poland on a beautiful coast. But it also has charm thanks to the historic buildings.
